Last one available from the 'Systems' series — a combination of scavenger hunt and puzzle, finding utilitarian parts with threads, as in they screw onto other parts for a specific purpose, but here, I merged an old sprinkler onto a part intended to distribute air. Linking a variety of parts, as well as fabricating new parts insinuating the potential of life and growth existing within this sculpture.

Horizontally inclined, 'System #5' has legs that connect to a custom cut steel plate base that follows the outline of its cedar slab. Cedar was chosen at the base for its insect resistance and strength over time.

Glass parts are within this piece too, creating wonderful surprises with lighting sources, reflection and refraction.
