Wall Loop
A hand-built ceramic pot created with slab and coil techniques. The front slab piece was left raw to show off the affects of the gas reduction kiln while the rest of the vessel is painted in white slip with black to accentuate the coiling.
The vessel holds a 4" insert pot and does not have a drainage hole.
One screw in the wall will support it all. I heated this long piece of solid steel round bar until it was soft enough to wrap directly onto this vessel. Turned the tails up, continued bending and couldn't bring myself to cut the excess, so I curled it into the loop you see on the upper right hand side.
These materials are close in their melting temps and to my pleasant surprise, accept each other very well!
